To assemble the cutting iron assembly, place the cutting iron across the back iron as shown and swivel the cutting iron so that the newly sharpened cutting edge passes the edge of the back iron and then carefully slide the cutting iron towards the leading edge of the back iron.

Assembling the Cutting Iron Assembly

The distance from the cutting edge to the leading edge of the back iron is approximately 1/32”
1/32 " gap
Tighten the set screw ready for assembly in the the throat of the plane body.
