Carpentry and Joinery - Building a Garden Shed

A three-day workshop for developing carpenters

For this three-day carpentry course, students combine their efforts to develop a small wood framed structure using standard framing methods and hand skills commonly used in carpentry and joinery.

In building this garden tool/storage shed we use a variety of methods that will help you to confidently develop dozens of woodworking projects around the home and garden.

We teach the basic concepts of leveling foundations, squaring buildings and working to traditional patterns. These skills will help you to establish accuracy as you build. We also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various fastening methods, types and benefits of different woods and building materials, design and much more.
